2012 is gonna be OH so sweet!! I’m already sweating just from January’s hotty stuff…LIVE LONG & PROSPNERD!
Self proclaimed nerd girl, and proud gamer, graphic designer, and photographer Blair Strange has made a calendar that’s well…let’s face it…is gonna make my mom mad! I’ma have to hide it. (She snoops around down there in the basement)
I asked Blair a few questions about why she had decided to make a calendar. Here was her response:
In present day media there are few true representations of the female nerd. We’re either portrayed as the frizzy-haired, overweight girls with braces that fawn over the quarterbacks; or the obviously hired super model that is only reciting product specs for the money. P1nupgrls was created to fix that media image and to empower women in that niche. “I see no reason why there should be a separation of gender when it comes to ‘nerdery’,” one of the models explains. The goal for the company is to become a hub for women in the geek world and to provide them with as much attention as their male counterparts and to prove that not only can geeks be girls but that hot chicks can actually be real nerds.
The pin-up calendar is the first of many products P1nupgrls she has planned.
